THE PROJECT
The area considered for development potential is shown in red and comprises some 136ha hectares of land. Solar panels will cover approximately 65 hectares contained within this.
The maximum height of the panels will be approximately 3 metres.
If the proposal is consented and developed, there will be a biodiversity net gain for the site, with areas for habitat enhancement including additional hedgerows.
The solar farm will have a lifetime of 40 years. There are no foundations for the solar panels and, at the end of the lifetime, the panels can be easily removed - all equipment and structures would be removed from site.
This solar farm would have a capacity of up to 57 MW and have the opportunity to deliver electricity to approximately 13,000 homes.*
*Based on average UK solar PV load, 2019-2023 inclusive [DUKES, DESNZ 2024, table 6.3] and mean domestic metered consumption of 3239.5kWh/pa in 2022 [latest figures from accredited official statistics]
